Add a reflector to get your CFL grow light working at its optimal. Reflectors are almost as important as your choice of grow light. A good reflector will concentrate the light rays the grow light emits down towards the plants. If you do not use a reflector, you could waste up to 40% of the light you get. Studies show that mounting a light horizontally with a reflector above greatly improves the amount of light that plants get. Those studies looked at other options like vertical mounting and not using one of these units at all. Nothing worked as well as using the bulb in the horizontal position with a reflector.

class, light is a spectrum of colors. The colors range from infrared on one end
to ultraviolet on the other end. All parts of the spectrum are necessary for
healthy plant growth. Artificial lights use a number of technologies to try to
mimic natural light. A standard HPS bulb uses sodium under high pressure to
create light. Naturally, this type of lamp tends to be on the red to orange end
of the scale. It is good for flowering, but not leaf growth. However, with the

What is a water cooled grow light anyway? Grow lights are
those lights you suspend over plants indoors to give them the light they are
missing from being inside. Many types of grow lights get quite hot. In fact,
some can cause severe burns if you touch the bulbs directly. In order to
regulate the heat on the light, some choose to install a dedicated cooling unit
that they connect to the lights. A water cooled light avoids that need. The
water absorbs the heat and draws it away from the lamp. This makes the grow
room much cooler and easier to handle.
